Finally the day has come for me to share these images from the stunning Barnsley House, Cotswolds. It feels like such a long time ago since I attended the Illuminated Fine art workshop and shot some of my very first rolls of film!
Barnsley House is an amazing venue situated in the pretty Cotswolds. For any brides who haven’t already found their wedding venue, I would highly recommend this gorgeous hotel and spa.
Back in May last year, just before my rebrand, I decided to do something I had dreamed about for ages. I’d often see gorgeous workshops being advertised on Facebook but these were generally abroad and at that moment in time, I didn’t have the funds to attend any of them. So when I spotted the Illuminated Workshop I just knew I had to go!
Although I had experimented shooting film before, this was the first time film took priority over digital; my digital camera only really coming out once I had run out of film. As you can imagine, this was quite unnerving as I really wanted these images for my new website and I couldn’t afford to mess it up!
Attending a workshop is a great idea for any photographer who is looking to gain more knowledge in a particular field but it is also a way to meet new friends and network with other photographers. Obviously it is also a great way to gain beautiful images for a new website- especially if you are currently rebranding. It’s a long day and it’s fast moving but I would totally recommend it to any photographer looking into attending a workshop.
I experimented with a lot of different film at this workshop and the images below are a mixture of kodak gold 200 and fuji pro400. You can also see a full list of the suppliers involved at the bottom of this post.
