A few weeks ago my cousin Emily and I decided to take a road trip to Wales to visit my Aunties new house, which she is currently renovating. I love taking trips like these; where you know your phone won’t have signal and the lack of social media leaves you with no option but to eat to your hearts content! I also love the fact that my cousin Emily has an appetite as big as mine! Together i’m sure we could win some sort of eating competition.
Emily’s dog Poppy, who to me resembles a small cow given the size of her and the markings she has, fits perfectly into this huge house. The garden is big enough for 2 horses!
When we weren’t eating we managed a trip to Borth beach, which was amazing! You literally can drive straight onto the sand and park up next to the dunes. Poppy was desperate to get out the car and run. She loved it! And what a beautiful day we chose; it was warm enough for sunbathing.
Nothing beats walking along a beach. Even when the sun isn’t out, a long stroll along deserted sand can help clear anyones head, especially a beach as beautiful as this one. I even spotted someone having a lesson on their horse and being an equine photographer, it took all my will power not to run half a mile down the beach just to get one shot of them! To be fair, if i’d had my film camera with me I probably would have done so!
Stranded Jelly fish seemed to be rife here! My uncle assured me they were still alive and being the animal lover I am, I desperately tried to save them with my foot, nudging them back into the water. Not sure this was useful if i’m honest but I felt better for trying! 🙂
After walking long enough to collect various pretty pebbles and shells, we decided it was time for coffee and after a short drive, we stopped at the caravan sites little cafe. And yes there was cake and yet again we ate instead of checking our Facebook feeds!
If you’re heading off to Wales any time in the near future then this beach is definitely worth a visit!
